When Jesus teaches us to pray, He doesn’t start with our needs. He starts with the Father’s name, the Father’s will, and the Father’s kingdom.
“Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” —Matthew 6:10
This is not a passive whisper. It’s a prophetic cry.
It’s a daring, disruptive, dangerous prayer.
It’s a prayer that invites God’s world into ours. That disrupts the status quo. That declares: God’s way is better than mine, and I want it to be real—not just for me, but for the world.
👑 What Is the Kingdom of God?
The “kingdom” refers to the rule and reign of God—what life would look like if God were in charge. When we say, “Your kingdom come,” we are crying out for:
Joy instead of despair
Peace instead of chaos
Wholeness instead of fragmentation
Justice instead of oppression
Generosity instead of greed
Healing instead of sickness
Forgiveness instead of revenge
